Come watch an awesome selection of more than one dozen short films from around the world that no one told you about, during Round III of The 2018 Short Film Slam, presented by The Madlab Post. Attendees get to cast a vote for their favorite films among a mix of genres including thrillers and horror flicks from Philadelphia natives George Vatistas (The Hobbyist) and August Aguilar (Cindy's Birthday Party).

Round III also features Jessica Green's award-winning comedy MindFull, Iranian director Kaveh Jahed's family drama Samar, and New York filmmaker C.A. MacFinn's animated retelling of the biblical classic David and Goliath alongside Emmett Loverde's romantic comedy Good Business Sense.

The 2018 Short Film Slam is a tournament-style competition providing a platform for emerging and established filmmakers to showcase their work. The winning film will advance to the next round of competition, as a finalist. All finalists get to compete for the BEST SHORT FILM AWARD, which includes a total of $1,000 in prize money during the final round. 

Estimated total program running time: 2hrs, includes one brief intermission.

Program rating: R equivalent, for violence, language, graphic imagery and mature tones that could be upsetting for younger viewers. Films may not be suitable for all audiences.

Since 2012, The Madlab Post has promoted community outreach and engagement through film, screening dozens of exceptional short films from across the globe to local audiences; including the Academy Award nominated short film "Traffic Stop," Sundance Grand Jury Prize nominee "Et ta prostate, ça va? (How’s Your Prostate?)" and Clermond-Ferrand International Film Festival Special Jury Prize winner "The Bathtub."
